About Ani

I have been a movement educator for twenty years and have studied movement (dance, aerial performance, yoga, kitesurfing, steel mace, kettlebells) for three decades.

As a dance artist, I performed off-Broadway and in modern dance companies, and showcased my choreography in New York City. In 2005, I received my yoga teacher certification from OM Yoga Center. I taught yoga in studios, gyms, and corporations throughout NYC, including OM Yoga Center, Chelsea Piers, Bend and Bloom Yoga, and Robot Foundry, among many others.

I now work with private clients, providing individualized movement education at the intersection of yoga therapy and endurance strength-training. My specialized training includes anatomy and breath-based yoga therapy, postnatal yoga, restorative yoga, steel mace flow, kettlebells, yoga for cancer, meditation, and Thai massage.

Whether I am teaching professional trainers, dancers, or beginners, I believe that breaking down complex movement into fundamental principles, and enhancing our proprioceptive awareness, is the key to mastery. These practices allow us to live in less pain, and respond with embodied strength to physical, mental, and emotional challenges.
